Divi – Role Editor Builder Interface
Script & Screenshots
In this video I’m going to go through the Divi Role Editor. The Divi Role Editor gives you control over what each WordPress User Role can do within the Divi Builder. In this video I’m going to go through the options under Builder Interface.
To get to this editor, click on Divi on the left sidebar, then Role Editor.
At the top you’ll see all the different roles that you have within WordPress. I’m going to stay on the Administrator tab. You’ll also find these same settings on the other three tabs.
These are the Builder Interface options that I’ll be going through in this video. They include: Add & Delete Item, Edit Item, Move Item, Disable Item, Lock Item, Toggle Divi Builder, and Load Layout.
Starting with the Add & Delete Item option. This option allows you to add delete sections, rows, and items. If it’s disabled, these users will not be allowed to add or delete.
Here you can see where you can add and delete items. Once I refresh this page, it will remove those since I disabled them in the back end.
Notice all the X’s and the Add items have disappeared.
The Edit Item option allows you to edit within the Divi builder.
Here you’ll see all the Edit icons when it’s enabled.
After refreshing you can see that the Edit icons are gone.
The Move Item options allows you to enable or disable the ability to move sections, modules, and rows around.
When it’s enabled, you’ll see a plus like symbol with arrows on the end when you hover over a section, row, or module. It will allow you to click on the item and drag it.
When it’s disabled, the plus symbol will not show up and it will not allow you to drag and drop.
The Disable Item allows you to enable or disable Disabling an Item.
For Disabling an Item. When it’s enabled, you will see Disable when you right click on a section, row or module.
After refreshing so that it’s now disabled, you will no longer see Disable when you right click.
Locking items prevents items from being edited, moved or deleted until they are unlocked. Only Administrators can lock and unlock items. If an Administrator locks items within the builder, lesser user roles will not be able to modify these items. This can be quite useful when you have employees you want to prevent them from touching certain items, while still allowing them to modify others.
When Lock is enabled, you will see Lock when you right click on the module, row, or section.
After refreshing, you can see that the Lock option has disappeared.
The Toggle Divi Builder allows you to enable or disable the option to toggle between the Divi Builder and the default editor.
When it’s enabled, you’ll see the Use Default Editor or it will say Use Divi Builder.
When it’s disabled, you will no longer see this button, disabling you from being able to toggle between the two editors.
The Load Layout option allows you to enable or disable loading saved layouts from the Library.
When it’s enabled you’ll see the Load From Library button.
When it’s disabled, you will no longer see Load from Library on the purple menu bar.
That’s it for this video. I’ll see you in the next one.
