Divi – Layout Theme Settings
Script & Screenshots
In this video I’m going to walk you through the Layout Theme options.
To get there, click on Divi, then Theme Options.
Click on the Layout tab.
The first tab is the Single Post Layout. This is for your blog posts.
At the top of the page is choose which items to display in the post info section. Here you can choose which items appear in the post info section on single post pages. This is the area, usually below the post title, which displays basic information about your post, including Author, Date, Categories, and Comments. When they appear in blue, that means they are enables. Currently Author is not enabled.
If I click on it, it will enable it and turn it blue. I’ll click on Date to disable it.
Then next option is to enable / disable Showing comments on posts. If you want to remove the comments and comment form from single post pages, disable this.
Place Thumbs on Posts: By default thumbnails are placed at the beginning of your post on single post pages. If you would like to remove this image to avoid duplication, you’ll want to disable this option.
The next tab is Single Page Layout. This will be for your About, Contact, etc. pages.
Place Thumbs on Pages. This is disabled by default. It’s not likely you’ll want to add thumbnails on your pages. These are usually only used for blog posts. However, if you want to use thumbnails on posts you can by enabling this option.
Show comments on pages. This is also disabled by default. Once again comments are usually only used on blog posts. If you would like to have them, enable this option.
The final tab is the General Settings.
Only two options again on this page. For the Post info section, you can choose which items appear in the post info section on pages. This is the area, usually below the post title, which displays basic information about your post. This is for the main blog page where you’ll have multiple truncated blog posts listed. If the icon is blue and the text is dark grey, then the item is enabled. If you want to disable it, click on it so that it looks grayed out.
The last option for the layout settings is the Show Thumbs on Index pages. One index page would be the home page for your blog. This is enabled by default since most people would like to have thumbnails by each truncated blog post. It adds more life and color to the page. But if you’d like to disable it, you’d do it here.
If you made any changes that you’d like to keep, click on the Save change button.
That’s it for this video. I’ll see you in the next one.
